It was a close battle in C-Street as usual. I was fortunate to take the lead on my final run to win by 0.028s - which I'm pretty sure is the closest win or loss I've ever had in autocross.

First Autocross of the 2018 Season in the C-Street Mazda MX-5

We kicked off the 2018 season with a test day at Mineral Wells followed up by a local autocross with the Texas Region SCCA at the Texas Motor Speedway Bus Lot on March 4th, 2018. The site is a slick sealed asphalt lot with a fairly low speed course, but it's still good practice for ProSolo and generally getting back into the swing before the National SCCA Solo season starts. This is my fastest run (46.462s) which put me in 1st in X Class and 2nd in overall PAX. Also, the sealed asphalt makes for some heavy tire squeal....

Solo Nationals Onboard Video

This is my fastest run from Day 2 of the 2017 Solo Nationals on the West Course - 61.554s. It was good enough for 2nd quick on the day and moved me up from 14th to 6th in class after a slower than normal Day 1 result.

A full recap of the my first Majors race weekend is on the way (spoiler alert....broken engine), but here is onboard video from Sunday's qualifying session.

The entry is small (only 27 cars total) given that it's an early season non-points race, but I wanted to get some practice in before the US Majors season starts. This will basically be a practice session and a weekend to get comfortable running SCCA weekends as this will actually be my first SCCA Club Race ever! Right now, I will be running with 7 cars in the "Closed Wheel" race group which will be myself, STL, STU, SM, SRX7 - and a GT1 car which should be ridiculous. Hopefully a few more cars register....

Something New for 2016

A quick jaunt over to Phoenix this weekend and I have a new racecar sitting in the shop for next year. More details to follow. Should be exciting.

First Time to Spa-Francorchamps.....Spa Classic 2014

With my trip to Luxembourg, I was able to make the 1 hour drive up to Circuit Spa-Francorchamps for the 2014 Spa-Classic historic races. There was a really nice mix of cars there highlighted to Group C prototypes, F2 formula cars, and the Sports Racers and GT cars of the Classic Endurance Racing classes.
